Focused Learning for Youth (FLY) Afterschool Program helps middle school refugees achieve grade level through tutoring and enrichment activities. 

Program: FLY
Position: Tutors (10 Tutors Needed)
Description: help refugee middle school students with homework
Time: M-F, 3pm - 5:30, 1+times/week
Minimum Commitment: 3 months
Requirements: background check

The Priscilla Project provides targeted assistance for medically at-risk mothers through volunteer mentors, educational sessions, and increased health and social services.

Position: Mentors (20 Mentors Needed)
Description: be a supportive friend for a pregnant refugee mom
Time: 1 time/week for 2-3 hours, flexible hours
Minimum Commitment: 5 months
Requirements: flexible, cross-cultural competency

The Hope Refugee Sewing Project equips refugees with basic sewing skills and materials.

Position: Sewing Teachers (5 Sewing Teachers Needed)
Description: help refugee women learn to sew
Time: W, F (12-2) and F, S (10-12)
Minimum Commitment: 8 weeks
Requirements: sewing experience 

Hope Urban Gardening (HUG) connects refugee families with community gardens.

Description: preparing garden beds for planting
Time: May 2012
Minimum Commitment: 1 time
Requirements: physical work

The ESL Initiative provides language support through conversational English groups. 

Program: ESL Initiative
Position: ESL Volunteers (20 Teachers Needed)
Description: help teach a small English class in a refugee home.
Time: twice a week, flexible hours
Minimum Commitment: 8 weeks 
Requirements: willing to engage in conversation with English Language Learners

E3 empowers refugee women in the areas of reading, writing and citizenship test preparation and provides enrichment experiences for them and their young children. 

Position: Home Visitors (10 Home Visitors Needed)
Description: help women meet their education goal in their homes
Time/Frequency: 2 times per week, flexible hours
Minimum Commitment: 5-6 months
Requirements: none

Reach Out & Read promotes early childhood literacy with developmentally appropriate books and advice at well-child visits through JRFP.

Position: Readers (10 Readers Needed)
Description: read books to children waiting in Jericho Road Family Practice waiting room
Time: M-S, between 9am-4pm
Minimum Commitment: 1 time
Requirements: flexible, good reading skills

The Hope Drop-In Center offers advocacy, assistance, and interpretation for refugees seeking to adjust to the U.S. through client-driven case management.

Position: School Registrants (3 Registrants Needed)
Description: help clients register children for school
Time: M-F, 1 full day, 2-3 times/month
Minimum Commitment: 2 months
Requirements: shadow at DIC 2 times

Program: Hope Drop-In Center
Position: Drivers (20 Drivers Needed)
Description: drive clients to appointments
Time: M, W, F, between 9am-4pm, 1/2 or full day, 3 times/month
Minimum Commitment: 2 months

Financially Fit offers free, basic financial education on banks, credit, etc. for refugees. Classes are taught by refugee leaders, specific to language group.
